I have a spot of light surface rust on my new flywheel about the size of my hand, should I clean it off or just not worry about it?
If I clean it what should I use?

It wont last long with all the slipping clutch problems Ive read about on the site!
I would probably just lightly sand it.

0000 steel wool. 4 ought steel wool is great for that ,to clean glass, rusty chrome,,,you'd be surprised at what it will do for it. it wont take out pits but it'll make it look a lot better. 0000 wont scratch.

No pits mostly just red colored in one spot.

In that quote I was referring to using it on rusty chrome . Things like the inside windshield trim on hardtops & bumpers it does really great. but on your flywheel it will take off the rust without affecting the grind swirls.
