Comets on Craigslist
Comets on Craigslist
No affiliation or interest...just thought it was interesting that these Comets show up in the local (Sacramento, CA) area in the same week. The convertible was originally listed for $22.5k.

Re: Comets on Craigslist
I didn't even know craigslist was a thing anymore... but then again, most people don't even know a Comet is a thing anymore;)
I like the first one, pretty clean, but looks like maybe a patch in front of the wheel well. At least a paint touch.

Whoever listed the wagon needs a lesson in photography. Those pictures are terrible.

Re: Comets on Craigslist
I still have craigslist bookmarked from when I was searching for a car and peruse it occasionally for fun. Actually found my car on craigslist!

The paint on that car is highly oxidized but looks solid as a rock.Boss/Cyclone wrote: ↑Mon Sep 05, 2022 8:15 amWhoever listed the wagon needs a lesson in photography. Those pictures are terrible.
I'm betting she would buff out very well. She's my pick of the litter for the price.

I am not a fan of convertibles. Just saying a solid project car brings good money in my area. I have 3 vehicles built at the San Jose Ford plant, those rust free western cars are a joy to work on.Joe Travers wrote: ↑Fri Oct 14, 2022 9:15 pmExtra $1K can make it happen.Boss/Cyclone wrote: ↑Fri Oct 14, 2022 3:39 pmThat red 64 would be sold in a minute if it were here in Michigan

Not a fan either, due to our frequent pop-up showers.Boss/Cyclone wrote: ↑Fri Oct 14, 2022 9:48 pmI am not a fan of convertibles. Just saying a solid project car brings good money in my area. I have 3 vehicles built at the San Jose Ford plant, those rust free western cars are a joy to work on.
Yeah, looking @ a Cali truck this last week, checking on transport fees. Average from West Coast to middle section of the country is around $1K.

Re: Comets on Craigslist
More CA opportunity. I think the CA (and AZ, NM TX)aspect of project cars is significantly undervalued. Not having to spend half the projects hours on loosening bolts and grinding out rust is worth significantly more than prices indicate.

I wonder how the rear suspension works, ladder bars and leaf springs... both swing a different arc. The transmission mount is also unique.

That car failed miserably @ auction earlier this year. The 'street freak' fad burned out faster than a cheap cigarette.JimsHot66 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 14, 2022 5:20 pmThis one's interesting...1965 Comet Gasser

but I agree. if you are building to sell or even a possibility of having to sell dont make it this personal. for the same effort could have built a nice car that a whole lot more people would want.
