Hi all,
I recently acquired this original finish C4GF-E Autolite 4100 carb. This is not correct for my 65 Mustang (doing a concours restoration) so I figured I would post it here on this forum to those who specialize in the Comets (came over here from the Concours Mustang and Shelby SAAC forum).
I am missing the tag as well as parts of the choke, but it is complete otherwise and all butterflies move freely. I have attached some photos of the carb.
What numbers should be on the boosters? I know what the booster numbers are for a Mustang 289 Autolite 4100 (both HiPo and non HiPo) but am unsure of this carbs correct numbers. This carb will be for sale, but I need to determine if the boosters are correct prior to establishing a price.
Thanks!
Riley

Seems most of us on here have hotrodded our Comets, but there may be a few original one here. Hopefully someone on here needs it and you two can make a deal. Welcome, I also am a member on the concours mustang site and a long time saac member.

According to Bob Mannels small block book boosters should be-
Primary- Y
Secondary - B (BA is possible as well)
Jets- Pri 49F and sec 55F.
Found on early 64 Comet 289 and early 64 Ford big blocks.
If you’re doing a concours resto the book is invaluable.

Agree with Joe on this (Mannel book is a must have). And I see that it's now available in pdf form. which should weigh less than the book by a long shot

Right now is a great time to buy the book from the website. You’ll get a physical book and a lifetime (or as long as the website is up) PDF version that is updated and has extra content. Not a bad deal.
I think he’s trying to get rid of the actual printed books in stock and is going to do strictly PDF sales because of the ease of updating.

Thanks guys for the info!
I have since purchased both the physical book as well as the PDF version
I also confirmed that the carb has the correct boosters (Y and B), its for an automatic car and has the correct magnet on the air horn, used for early 1964 cars.
I appreciate the info and book recommendation!
Does anyone have any interest in the carb?
