Holley 1909

Post by Adams »

Hello All, As you may have read, I now have a '65 200 in my '62 Comet. However, I'm also rebuilding the original 144 (I know, crazy, but I may go back to originality rather than power at some point). I THINK the original carb was supposed to be a Holley 1909. I have seen the 1908 listed for 61-62, and the 1909 listed for a '62 170, but there seems to be a blank space when it comes to the 62 144 motor, which I have. Anyone here have experience with a 1909 carb? A 1909 on a 144? I think if it works for a 170, it should for a 144 also. Thanks

IT's JMO,,and add a dollar and you can get a cup of coffee at the golden arches !!BUT you'll not want to ever go back to that 144 unless your 200 blew up and THAT's the best you could do at the time......besides to me all this hype about orginal is somewhat over worked,,but it's your ride and what so ever you choose to do is OK !! To me it's the same as being forced to carry a back pack everywhere you go,,then you get a duffle bag and find our how much more you can carry, that 200 is so much better,,,,good luck in your choice down the line..........and I don't know about the 1909 !
