Dual cast iron exhaust manifolds for the Ford 6

Post by BJB »

In Australia a local company Speco in the 60s made a set of twin cast iron exhaust manifolds...they are even rare here. Another company here has now manufactured a set to suit the 144 170 200 221 and even a set for the 2V heads.

Old school cool/

Probably pretty pricey too :P I would love to find a good 2V head at my kind of price

Mike not cheap, but they compare in price to the Clifford Performance tube steel split headers made in the US. The Australian manifolds are cast iron and has improvements to the Siamese centre ports and there is one made for the 2V head which is slightly different. I have spoken to the owner of this business over the last couple of years and he assures me that all the components are OZ made, the studs and including the packaging which is locally made, even down to the bubble wrap. The advantage of the US Falcons and Mustangs is that the steering box is on the left side of the engine, however over here they are on the right. Headers tend to interfere with the steering here so it is a bit tight. This cast manifold should be OK. Have you considered one of your Classic inline alloy heads.... classy

I have but the price is a bit too much for my budget build  and I was noting that folks were having a hard time just getting on the waiting list. Going to stick with the regular old log head and mount the 3 progressive 2 barrels to it with my custom made intake (like a Offy except for 2bbls)

I purchased one of these Aussiespeed cast iron twin outlet exhaust manifolds. This will be fitted to a 2V head and 250 engine.
