wiring 63 170

Hi Guys, Buddy brought over his 63, his gas gauge goes to Full and heat guage goes to hot and wont come back down when key is on. We thought ground maybe? Anybody ever experience this before? Thanx for any help. Mike

they have gone to ground !! POP

Undo the wire from the sending unit in the fuel tank,turn key on,if needle stays on E ,problem is in the tank unit,with some one watching needle rub the wire on something to ground it out momentarly,the needle should start climbing toward full ,unground it ,needle starts falling back to E means gauge in dash is good,,,,do the save thing with sending unit in block for the temp gauge,,,,if not look for naked wire all this might help ya a little bit :!: pop :shock:

I know of something else :!: :!: but i'm not throwing it out on the table as of yet,some times to much info is con-fuseing,so just check out the other stuff first :!: pop :roll: :D
