Original 144 or rebuilt 170

Post by Antwoord »

My 60 Comet has the original 144 in it right now, it's been sitting for 20 years or so but I've gotten it to start. My question is, would it be in my best interest to buy a rebuilt 170 from someone in town with trans for $350 or work on my 144. I've never dealt with older car engines so I don't really know how deep I've gotten myself into so any insight is much appreciated.

Thanks,
Anthony

I would go for the 170,that 144 ain't got e'nuff ?? to hardly pull up a steep hill, but thats JMO..paint it like the 144,don't tell and others will think you have that 1in 100 144's that zip it down the hwy.....pop
