Running very short on good chrome polish & supplier has left the planet.
What are best choices out there to clean up minor pitting & add shine?
Looks like MEGUIARS is big now like Mothers was few decades ago.
Big may not be the best.

I have used just about every brand out there including Flitz and Semichrome both of them work well. Then I discovered this stuff, https://dura-coating.com/collections/al ... olish-16oz
It is by far the best I have used for chrome and aluminum. It is not inexpensive but you do not need to use much product for normal polishing. It does not contain any abrasive so if you have slight pits you may want to apply it using a white Scotch Brite pad. (Only white, it is safe on glass so it will not harm chrome)
I use a foam pad to apply and a microfiber to buff.

Just put in an order to try it out. If it works as well as the video demos, I will be very satisfied.
Some shoulder stretching would do me good

Everyone who I have suggested the product to has been very satisfied. It made the wheels on my Comet look amazing so I tried it on the chrome and was blown away.

VG product, Jim
Showed up late today. Dabbed a cloth and hit the corner of the front bumper. Chrome popping good.
Yes, looks like it will stretch with VG coverage. Running over to Ace in the morning and pick up some Scotch-Brite, see how the wheels turn out.

I figured you would like the product. Make sure to use only white Scotch Brite.Joe Travers wrote: ↑Tue Dec 10, 2024 8:55 pmVG product, Jim

Looking great! I see you are “cheating” using a buffer! Whatever makes the job easier.Joe Travers wrote: ↑Sun Dec 15, 2024 12:32 pmBrightest bumper on the block award
Need to apply a second coat w/ Scotch Brite on passenger side where there's a little hazing going down.
License plate area was done this way and pops very good!
Joe
Try the product on aluminum it really makes it shine.

Re: Chrome Polish
Hand buffed the entire bumper sans behind the plate a few days ago to try least intrusive route first.
Thought I would try more aggressive approach after pulling the plate today. It was pretty dirty but turned out the best, rubbing in the product w/ Scotch Brite, remove w/ buffer. Time to take that approach on the bumpers and wheels. I previously used the more aggressive approach w/ former product, as well. Oxidation from a lot of humidity.
The aluminum wheels on my truck are pretty ratty. They will be perfect test subjects
Thanks again for the recommendation!
Joe
