Fuel Pump Switch Location

Post by lavron »

Opinions wanted.

I have a fuel pump switch to cut power manually for whatever reason. Would you put the switch showing on the console or place it up under the dash where you can't see it while sitting in the seat (my thoughts would be right below the ignition switch, where you could reach down and flip it on)?

I have an LED light with a little gas pump on it I thought I would wire to the switch to show the switch was on and the fuel pump is running so you know the power is going to the pump in case you forget the direction the switch goes to turn it on.

See Ya,
Mike

Mike,
Having the pump on a switch is a good safety precaution, I use mine as a booster to the engine mounted pump. My switch is mounted to the left of the steering column on a small panel that also has the manual choke and a power port. I wired the push/pull switch through a relay. ( the other knob next to the column is for the air vent above the parking brake)
