1961 Comet with a twist

Post by pre_merc61 »

Hey all,

I'm kinda new here, only been here a few months. But anyways, I've got a 1961 Comet that my dad, supercomet, and I have put together. We put in a little 289 and a toploader 4spd. Got it running about 2 weeks ago, but we have to take the bottom end apart because of rod knock. I'll have had the car for 2 years on June 18. I'm kinda following in my dad's footsteps, but the one thing I won't do is sell the car.

Hope everyone has a great day, until next time

Welcome aboard, Ryan! :D I take it your dad is Drew Wanzer, a former moderator on this site? Glad to see you're continuing to carry the Comet torch. Keep us posted on your progress on your car.

Hey, Ryan!

Love the cat-eye tail lens on the earliest models. Cooler than a Henry J or Morris Minor :D

Ryan,
Welcome! Looking forward to your progress. And learning about the early Comets too. Are you pulling the engine?
Regards,
Chris and Cheryl

Chris and Cheryl,

We actually aren't going to pull it again unless I blow it, or I get a crate engine. Cylinder 3 is the only one that's loose, but we're going to replace all the bearings just to be safe.
