1963 Comet S-22

Post by McComet1963 »

Bought a 63 Comet S-22 January 2020 with V6 Manual and plan on driving it this year.
I am hoping to collect parts and information to build a new drive train.
I have a 302 built from a Car Craft magazine when my son was in high school... about 400hp
Dart Pro 1 heads.. Eagle balanced and forge piston assembly, Edelbrock intake, 750 carb and shorty headers.
I plan to couple this with a 5 speed manual and some sort of 8.8 or 9" rear end.
I will have lots of questions and this might be a place to get them.

I am new to Mercury as I have previously just sold a 70 Pontiac Lemans 455 and 62 2dr Rambler classic.
I have also previously owner a 61 Ford falcon Automatic with 289.
I have always like the Comets and my new 63 fits the bill, especially to drop in the 347.

Welcome aboard! :D Sounds like a good plan, and there's plenty of help here for the asking. Show us some pics of this beast, and start a build thread so we can follow along. Here's how to post the pics.
