New 65 Comet owner

Post by schmudlk »

Hi all my name is Steve I reside in the cold of Wisconsin. I just purchased my second 65 Comet this one a pretty rust free CA car. i grew up with Falcons but have always liked the lines of the 65-67s. I was in the auto trades most of my life doing both Mechanics thru the 70s and 80s then body and paint up till retirement. i sold my other 65 3 years ago to build a street rod an have been searching for another since. i have posted some parts needs under wanted an hope to have some fun this summer.

Welcome on Steve, sounds like you have experience with Comets so no need to warn you about the rarity of certain/most parts and it is good to hear you picked up a nice rust free car.

See Ya,
Mike

Well.....welcome again! I saw your post for parts first, and welcomed you there. Sounds like you know your way around Comets and Falcons, so share the fun with us and start a build thread. We can all learn from each other.

Beauty!!
Looks amazing without the brightwork in that colour.
I've always thought the brightwork finished these cars so well but
yours all blacked out, wow!

Happened upon your post with the pic of the car.
Haveyou thought about blacking out the window trim.
I'm pretty sure they have black chrome.
I tnink this car would benefit from losing the vent windows,
the car has such clean lines the chrome vertical lines hinder that.
Just thinking out loud, beauty car regardless.
