Hello

Post by newold64 »

Names Nate. Been lurking for a while figured I’d post a pic of my 1964 Mercury Comet Caliente 260v8, 4sp. Car is in decent shape but needs some minor work. Looking forward to getting it on the road for the first time. Been kinda neglecting it for the last year or two but I’m gathering motivation on it.

Welcome aboard! :D I'd say she's in more than "decent" shape. Looks like she's been well taken care of. What are your plans for her?

Thanks for the compliments guys. It has captivated me as of late. I have a few new parts on the way that should help with how it goes down the road right now... (she wanders to say the least) haha Some new steering and suspension bits arriving soon and probably going to go for a disc brake conversion. I’m looking to replace wheels with some black Steelers and lower it a bit. Never will be a show car but you don’t see too many. I’ll have some questions I’m sure so bare with me! These cars seem to be a bit hard to find some parts? Example: the exterior side moulding? I’ve searched but cannot find much on it? I have a complete set but was looking to replace.

Welcome Nate!
Get used to not being able to find much for these cars.
The fact you have a compete set is great!
Not too many clips, screws, nuts and bolts to hold that stuff on hey!!! :D .
We're happy to help with any questions you may have.
Fred
I'd rather do it myself if it's done right or not,,,isn't that what hotrodding is all about
