I like the grille myself! Nothing beats one-of-a-kind
Gonna keep the slappers?

Yes, Sir. I dig the 1970's Street Racer vibe of the traction bars. It's a classic high school parking lot look.

The grille looks better than I would have imagined in my head, maybe not as classy as a Comet grille but definitely a unique look, if you like it I wouldn't worry too much about it, nobody much outside this group is going to know what is supposed to be there.
Neat Comet just the same.
See Ya,
Mike

Hey I have a pair of 64 headlight mounts if your lookin.
Just gotta be straight with ya, don't like the grill especially with a single big dia headlight.
I still have slappers on mine too.
Are you gonna narrow the rearend seeing as your tubbing,,

No, I'm not going to tub it. The prior owner was going to but he only got as far as cutting out the fender wells. I now have to fix what he messed up. Or I'll just find & install a back seat & ignore the issue altogether. I fix a lot of problems that way!

Lots a strength of the car is in those tubs.
Cant get much tire under these cars, thats why I thought

That's a first for me!
Never seen one with a grill like that. Looks like it was made to fit.
I'll bet it could get a bit smokey in there during a burn-out with open tubs and no rear seat.

Yep. Plus for added stink, the exhaust exits right in front of the rear wheels.

Ya probably a good idea "stop the stink"
Knowing what LA traffic can be like you wouldn't want to be caught in a freeway crawl with the under carriage open.

Update: I found that shock top/bracket so now she's all dialed-in mechanically. Running well (fast!) and looking pretty decent in fresh flat matte paint. Thanks, Guys.
