New Member - Georgetown Texas

Post by jarudd74 »

Hello all.

My name is Jerry. I recently purchased a 1965 Caliente resto-mod. The build includes a 1987 302 including Holley 4V, Edelbrock intake manifold, headers and a dual Flow Master exhaust. Tranny is a late 80's T5. This car is a gas to drive! My interest lies in maintaining it as well as restoring some of the original instrumentation. Most of my questions will be simplistic to many of you on the forum.

I previously owned a 1955 Nomad, so I am familiar with the challenges of owning a "classic". I look forward to learning a lot from you all and participating in this forum.

Welcome aboard, Jerry! :D There are no simplistic or dumb questions, so ask away. Someone on here has probably been there, done that, and it doesn't cost you a cent. We need to see this ride of yours, so post some pics. Here's how:

Thanks. I bought my Nomad in 1985 for about $4,000. It had a 302 in it with a Holley 4V, Edelbrock intake manifold and dual exhausts. No headers. 4 speed on the floor with a Hurst shifter. Made some fixes and a few upgrades to it. Sold it in 1987 for a song. One cannot touch a Nomad for less than $60K now. Oops!

Man you got a heck of a buy on the Nomad! I had many tri-fives back in the day (60s) wish I’d have kept just one 😬 Life style just didn’t allow it… now that I can afford one, they’ve gone crazy with price. Will just stick with and hope to get my daughter’s 66 back on the road in the near future.
