Interesting Paint Jobs

Post by Jims65cyclone »

I saw a car the other day with an interesting paint job that I've never seen on a car before. I thought I'd start a thread where folks can post pics of unusual/elaborate/unique/different paint jobs. Might spark some ideas.

I saw this car opposite from me at a stop light. I can imagine a conversation:
Cop: What color was the getaway car?
Witness #1, west sidewalk: Black!
Witness #2, east sidewalk: No, White!
Cop:

Reminds me of that crazy Star Trek episode in the '60s.

As far as I could tell, it was all Dodge, just split down the middle with black on one side and white on the other. It was painted like that front to rear.

The '61 had critters bailing out as it was towed out of it's long term resting grounds. A local farmer had lined a field with cars on the sides to make his home-made airport more visible from the air. Pulled it out after the old guy passed and airport defunct.

... it had 'a few rust spots' and spent a few years as 'Lawn Art' with some hardware store latex paint and classroom stencils until some progress was made on 'roadworthiness'.

After achieving 'Roadworthiness', the Comet kept the 'unique' paint job for a few years until I learned basic bodywork.

Quite a few people were dismayed when the Comet finally got my novice bodywork and re-paint. Someone mentioned to me a 'before' pic was in a photo exhibit in Europe ...

I have been told that my car and cosmic comet are the two of the more recognizable 65 Cyclones. Both have been custom painted and worn their odd paint jobs for over 3 decades. Notice I did not say beautiful, just no mistaken either of our unique cars...

Nope! No electrons involved. 100% paint (or possibly vinyl).
