Thanks Joe! Geez that small block is screaming!
I’ll be recording on Sunday. Maybe late Saturday. Ive gotta build up to it man…..first half of Saturday I’m kinda pushing it harder and harder and being amazed it ain’t breakin’
By Sunday I’m in IDGAF mode and I really lean into her and it gets fun and scary. I think Sundays are the days I come off the track a little shakey and full of adrenaline and thinking maybe I shouldn’t have done that to that guy in the Mustang haha

I don't think I could sleep for a week after a round of this.

I like your dust cap tool, I think I will try making one of those.
1965 Mercury Cyclone former drag car, 1971 Boss 351 engine, 4 speed, ladder bars, etc. Now returned to a street car.

I was thinking the same thing as Boss, Joe. You should patent that thing.Boss/Cyclone wrote: ↑Mon Oct 09, 2023 3:13 pmI like your dust cap tool, I think I will try making one of those.

Re: 64 Falcon Track Car
As promised here are the pics of the rear cooling ducts. Not sure how hot the rear drums actually get but I had the kit from years ago and decided it was time to install it. Backing plate gets drilled in a 3 inch circular pattern with a group of 1/4 inch holes. The duct attachment plate is just visible on the backing plate with the flex tube connected.
Both front and rear kits were bought from Cobra Automotive
While I was down there taking pics I whacked my head on the rear tow fitting so I decided to take a couple pics of that too. It bolts to the rear bumper bracket holes. The front tow hook incorporates a jack pad. Both are 1/2 inch u-bolts welded to 3/16” plate. I found the idea on the net somewhere for both front and rear tow fittings.
Ive whacked my head on the front one a few times as well

Do you have a tire rack on your trailer? Need tire sponsor
I'm gonna stop sending you those 8K rpm videos.

Man I wish. These bias ply Hoosiers are $300 each and they don’t last very long. But boy o boy do they STICK! Ive looked into cheaper radials but the sizes aren’t right for the vintage look. So its either these Hoosier HOT TDR tires or Goodyear Blue Dots that are even more expensive.

The next track event will be held on 28/29 October.
Open invitation to anyone that would want to go and see some old iron going fast on a historic road race track.
The track is about 1.5 hrs north of LAX or 1 hour north of Burbank airport. Be cool to meet some of you guys. I might even put you to work helping me rotate my tires….or swapping a transmission

Also I can get some super cheap airline tickets if someone would want to fly in.

Looks like a Lynn Park shindig. Gotta watch him. He runs Weber induction on his cars.
Power to ya, brother. Show him what you got

Yes he’s the one that rents the track twice a year for these events. Nice guy!
There are track events all year but this one focuses on 60s era Fords and Cobras (although there are a lot of newer Mustangs too). It’s no fun running against BMWs

I have plans that weekend, but keep us updated on future events. I would definitely fly out for an event.comethead wrote: ↑Tue Oct 10, 2023 1:24 pmThe next track event will be held on 28/29 October.

'Watch him' as 'in your mirrors'
I'm not Cobra aficionado but his old slab side beater is a killer car
