1961 Falcon "next project"
The driver's door window frame is rotten on the back. Does anyone have a door with this section still in good shape? Just the back upright section.

Pretty nice little Falcon. All the Falcons in the local JY are 4 drs I believe so I don't think that is the same part.

Yep, found a door. What I now need is the rear tack strip's for the headliner along with the retaining clip's.
It has a 93 5.0 from a Mustang GT with the GT40 head's, an F303 cam, Edelbrock performer and a 650 double squirter. Tremec 5 speed and an 8.8 with 3.73 posi. It has a traction problem the way it was built. They pressed the rear spring's to lower it, went too far then made long shackles to pick it back up. They chopped V8 mustang front spring's and they lost their travel. The front just lay's down so I have zero weight transfer. I have all new spring's with a 1" drop in the rear and 2" in front. I'm hoping for great improvement's in weight transfer now.

I know it is a little early to ask, but have you picked a color or colors for it yet?
It is a nice little bird, I like the clean look of it. Hopefully they did a better job on the rest of the car than they did the suspension.
See Ya,
Mike

I will have to say that a lot of the work is very nice. Most everything really. I will take it down and do my thing but there are countless hour's of love already given that look great. I just put the right side rear leaves in tonight and It look's like it will land right where I want it.
The color will be HOK Tangerine Kandy over the Metajules base.

Re: 1961 Falcon "next project"
All the new spring's are in. It raised it more than I wanted. I'm hoping it will settle a little. I did a 2" drop in the front (could do the Shelby drop with some massaging) and get the front down another inch; and a one inch drop in the rear. I don't have a jack and spare in the back so that may help settle the rear down. I'm wondering about making a shorter shackle and getting the rear down another inch. I just installed new original shackles, sigh.

Re: 1961 Falcon "next project"
that reminds me on that 63 I built yrs ago,,I wanted mine to set up in the front,so I put in a pair of 390 GT Stang springs,,,man it lifted it up so high,it threw the whole front end out of wack,,I couldn't even back it out of the shop,,,so I had to take those out good luck and if you devote the time ,effort and money that you have on your BUGGY'S,it can't help but to be SHARP,,,CAUSE YOU DO GOOD WORK !!! Re: 1961 Falcon "next project"
Sandbag it .comethead had the same trouble with new leafs. he used bags of cement in the trunk for a few weeks & that did the trick.
Re: 1961 Falcon "next project"
I had the same problem when I put in new leaf springs and I put sandbags in the trunk for about 2 months and the rear dropped down about 1inch and stayed there. It's a nice easy fix, give it a try, nothing to lose.Lip Ripper wrote:All the new spring's are in. It raised it more than I wanted. I'm hoping it will settle a little.
