351C swap engine mount options

Post by Travis65Comet »

I have three options I am looking at. First thing, I am planning on notching the shock towers using the Crites Kit. My original mounts that was holding the factory 289 are shot. I have read on this forum about using the 65 66 mustang CZ66 frame mounts and then buying the urethane engine side mounts. Crites also makes a a mount which I have not seen yet. What would be the best way to go? What difference in engine position would the later mounts do? I am still trying to find headers also. Looks like Tubular Automotive can make me a set. I just dont like those crossover tubes. Thanks for your time responding.

Went with Ron Morris mounts. They should give me a lot of clearance with being able to put the engine where I need it.

I may get a set of those mounts to try myself? Being able to adjust the engine could be a huge help. Do they look like nice quality and plenty strong Travis? Brian

Sorry for the delayed response. I had a death in the family and my sister came to visit me. Had not had a chance to do anything lately. Those Ron Morris mounts are really nice with clean Tig welds. Very nice quality product. I spoke with Mr. Ron about my build and I have a few more items I will be getting from him in the near future. He has a badass universal type transmission cross-member used for mounting the 3550/TKO transmissions that I will be getting. Brian, I am very pleased with my purchase.

Sorry for your loss Travis. Sucks. Our family went through that last year. Good to hear on the mounts. If I ever get my Cleveland assembled I may try those mounts. Brian
