Stumped - 63 comet 302 Accelerator linkage
Anyone know of an easy solution for 63 Comet gas peddle linkage to Edelbrock carb on 302/347.
I must be overlooking the obvious or already produced solution.
I see lots of home made stuff or modified linkage and of course I could buy a Lokar product but would like something more original.

Hunt for the original bellcrank for the 260. I still have mine mounted on the rear of a Eddy Performer RPM intake.
They are pretty hard to find but you may stumble onto one somewhere.
Happy hunting!

You could wonder through the 100 or so parts there or simply get a cable system and mod it to work.

On my 64 Falcon I used a 65-66 Mustang throttle linkage for the Victor Jr/Holley setup. It took some modification but fits perfectly and looks good. Super simple linkage as well. I had to use a 65-66 Mustang gas pedal; which matches the 64 Falcon brake and clutch pedals nicely.

You have to get a bellcrank for a year (64 on) that has a C4 trans because the mercomatic 2 speed downshift rod went in opposite direction vs. the C4, which I imagine you have. If you have a manual 4 speed, no issues.

Good find Bruce, but missing adjustable rod from pedal to bellcrank lever. Here's a good pic of the setup-bmmaurer wrote: ↑Mon Mar 15, 2021 10:28 amHere's what you need

Only seven parts, Fred. Rod from pedal to bellcrank, bellcrank and 2 springs. The bellcrank is a complete assembly comprised of housing, lever bracket and pivot rod w/retainer. (preaching to the choir)

Believe it or not but that adjustable rod from the pedal linkage to bell crank is reproduced https://cgfordparts.com/ufolder/cgcat.p ... Search+%23
I had to buy one for my 65...the original one was frozen.

Thank you all... I should be able to figure out something from the choices...
It always exciting... Almost ready to fire it up with no drive shaft...
Hope all goes well... Engine has not run in 14 years...

You may get trans fluid from the output shaft without the drive shaft. Be safe!McComet1963 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 16, 2021 12:22 amThank you all... I should be able to figure out something from the choices...

Hopefully I will be OK and I will be watchful.
I have a spline shaft installed and will just use Neutral...
Thanks, Pete

Re: Stumped - 63 comet 302 Accelerator linkage
Im not sure what kind of fabrication tools you have handy but for my 64 with a 347 with a victor junior i just bent up a piece of metal rod into an arm and welded on the rectangular piece that holds it to the pedal rod that comes out of the firewall. Was a little hard to get the bends just right for it to have full rang of motion with a air filter and everything but it works like a charm. then i just connected it to the carb by a piece of allthread with two adjustable ends on it.

FYI, I am going with a cable system and new pedal from Lokar... Thanks for all the help and suggestions.
