I guess those bags are pretty tough but I wouldn't trust them for coolant. Loman had one of the merc head washer tanks plumbed for coolant on his 65 racecar.
Pretty cool tank! Do you know what years they were available?
Pretty cool if could find a NOS that hasn't been stained by rust. Probably one of those unobtainium parts, I imagine :(

I dont think it is rust, just years that turn it yellow. Think they came out in 64 maybe? & still had them in 66 ,maybe 67,not sure how long they were available. They pop up now & then on ebay. I found one,was in the original box. I took it off to keep it clean.lol
little overflow tank hiding around the corner.

Yes, I have one of those bags on my 63 1/2 Comet. It is connected to the windshield washer pump and my 66 had a molded plastic container that held the washer fluid. Tell me what 60s Ford cars had stock overflow containers.

That is about a 1950 Consul sedan delivery(English Ford), I owned one! Wish I had a pic. Too bad about the lack of power.
Is that overflow an original Mountian Dew bottle?

None that I recall. seems like it was 70's or 80's when they came out.

The early '60s big block Galaxies had expansion tanks.

I can't remember. It was either that or a Kick-a-Poo Joy Juice bottle. I recall it had a couple of dirt bike motorcycles in the back, though.

Did a google search, yep it's about a 1965 bottle!

Not as creative as some examples here (I've seen a Coke bottle used) but it should work. It's 3" X 10" and fits really well. Even allows for the washer reservoir I'll never use. :-)

Thanks for verifying, Fred! :D
I think it's a pretty cool piece, if you can get your hands on one. Certified MercuryMan
