Make your own?
Have you looked at Doug's ?

https://www.summitracing.com/parts/DOU- ... ke/mercury

They say they fit automatic with column or floor shift. The link is for the ceramic coated but they also have painted for a little less and the painted ones are in stock.

I have Doug's on mine but the ones for a 4 speed and they fit really nice.

I looked up the Doug’s headers for my 63 Comet 260/4spd in the footnotes says requires cable or hydraulic clutch.

Sorry thought you were looking for headers for a 65 comet with automatic.

Yep, and for next to nothing! Buddy gave me the small block headers that didn't fit his Falcon. I spent a couple evenings hackin these together on my torched and ground to fit flanges.
I'd rather do it myself if it's done right or not,,,isn't that what hotrodding is all about

Lou, you fit those Doug’s headers with a column shift auto? If so
Then that looks like a good option. I don’t think I’m skilled enough to make my own headers unfortunately 😒

No I have a 4 speed. I have the D660YS headers which are for the 4 speed. They fit great, very happy with them!

The link I posted are for the D660YA which are for the automatics. In the foot notes they say they fit with column shift autos.

IMO they would be the ones to look at, maybe call them to be sure.
