Re: 3x2 manifold
Only way I would install that on a 260 is disable the outboard carbs. Then it's all eye candy and nothing more.
BTW- Miller made more horsepower on the dyno w/ Autolite 4100 than the 6V set-up!

Re: 3x2 manifold
Have a Blue Thunder 3 X 2 manifold on my 63 with a 289 [302]. Made up the setup myself, patterned after the Pony Carbs. Used 2100 Ford carbs, but mounted the fuel rail on the right side as opposed to Pony Carbs left side. It has been on my car since 1998 and have had zero problems
Re: 3x2 manifold
Would like to know what model 2100 or what cfm. Also were they designed for tripower or did you cut down the top? Thx again.
Re: 3x2 manifold
Couldn’t agree on a price for that Seattle setup, so let it go. I could get a new Blue Thunder manifold and rebuild/modify correctly sized Autolite carbs for about half that price. The correct Holley carbs also come up. Right now there are three of the 2868 carbs on EBay. So will continue to look for a better tripower solution.
Re: 3x2 manifold
The sizing of Autolite carbs might be of interest. The venturi size is on the casting.
0.98 - 190 cfm
1.01 - 240 cfm
1.02 - 245 cfm
1.08 - 287 cfm
1.14 - 300 cfm
1.21 - 351 cfm
1.23 - 356 cfm
1.33 - 424 cfm
For my purpose the 1.02 and 1.08 sizes are best. As far as I can tell, not too hard to find.

Re: 3x2 manifold
I’d go with the 1.08 carbs, Pat. I had forgotten the vague details on your engine but the Blue Thunder looks to have larger ports than the old manifolds. Most of the old ones like the Offy didn’t really flow that well compared to modern single carb designs.

Re: 3x2 manifold
Thanks Joe. I am leaning toward the autolite 1.08 too. Cost much less than scarce vintage tripower Holleys. Also will be interesting to do it that way. Rather than pay a wheelbarrow full of money and then just bolt them on. The Blue Thunder manifold is $$$ but I haven’t seen any alternative so far.

Re: 3x2 manifold
I noticed your post about tri-power. If you do try and build your own set up remember that you have to block off the idle circuits on the outboard carbs. It will idle on the center carb only otherwise it will be pig rich at low speeds.
I know it's for eye candy mostly ,but the Edelbrock dual 4 set up is more appealing looks wise works really well on small cube motors
My friend has a stock 302 in his 32 Ford and he has had that set up for years.

Re: 3x2 manifold
It might be quite a while before I put together a tripower setup.
So in the meantime I put together a dual quad setup which is much easier. The F-28 Edelbrock manifold has never been installed and from what I read is a copy of the Cobra manifold. It uses AFBs. I found a pair of small (400 cfm) AFBs reconditioned by a fellow up on the Columbia River in Washington. They have 1 7/16 bores.
The whole thing is just a bit more than the Blue Thunder tripower manifold by itself.
Have to get the linkage and air cleaner sorted out.

Re: 3x2 manifold
In answer to your question about 2100 model numbers -- Use the sixties carbs. Depending on engine size and build, use the cfm that will best suit your engine. Use a smaller cfm for the middle carb and larger cfm for the outer carbs. These carbs will be mounted backwards on the intake. Also, you do not need to try and disable the idle circuits of the outer carbs. The 2100 is not designed and does not have proper throttle plates to close off the carb at idle. As an aside, have you seen a dual quad setup where the secondary carb had no idle circiut.
