Electric Fuel Pump

Post by tomb22 »

Has anyone found a quiet external electric fuel pump? I first started out with a Holley mighty might 7lb fuel pump which sounds like a jack hammer. So I went on line to check out why. They say it starts out like a jack hammer but should quiet down when it reaches pressure and on the gauge it never seemed to reach pressure. I then ordered a Holley mighty might 7 to 10lb pump which also sounds like a jack hammer. I have it regulated to 6lbs but still sounds terrible.
There must be other fuel pumps that don't make a lot of noise. Is there an electric pump that would go into the 65 Comet tank?
thanks
Tom

Use something like this to mount the pump: https://www.mcmaster.com/isolation-mounts
Make sure to ad a ground wire because the rubber will isolate the pump from the frame.
