Block color

Post by alans 64 »

will finish building my fe for the comet in a couple of weeks and curious what the block color should be. I have seen ford blue, some black, and some body color. I am going to use a set of mercury "baldy" valve covers and guessing they should be gold. the offy 2-4 intake will be regular natural alum.

also should the lakewood stay the same reddish/orange as stock? I have to also clean and paint the toploader and could use some suggestions on color for it.

I want the car to be fairly period correct but probally won't be 100%.

thanks,

alan

Alan;the block and heads should be black with gold valve covers and air cleaner. The Lakewood should be red,I have an early one that stll has some original paint on it.The toploaders were left bare, what I do so they won't rust is paint them with Eastwood cast iron colored paint. The rear end should be a semi-gloss black and the pumpkin should be a redish flat.Mercury Marauder valve cover decals are available, not sure who has them. ROY.
