Jon K must have pretty good gas where he lives. With almost 11 to 1,huge cam....dyno ain't real driving.
That said,it's on my wishlist.I might disagree with Kaase and go with the 557,basically the same money.
Nice to see one of the mags promoting Ford over Chevy.

Agreed! We still have 93 octane here. I'm running 91 octane with 10.4:1 and not having any issues with ping. If I had money to burn I'd build a motor like this, but I'm thinking for the street I could be awfully happy with a 351 stroked to 408 with nice heads and a hyd. roller cam!vicegrip wrote: Nice to see one of the mags promoting Ford over Chevy.

11 to 1 with a big cam and aluminum heads is no problem on Premium fuel. The cam bleeds off a lot and the aluminum heads will take a lot of heat away!385 series Ford engines originally were torque monsters, not big HP builders, with all the good heads, new design cam shafts, better intake/carburators,plus stroker kits, not only are they torque builders but can make big reliable HP! The biggest problem is their HUGE physical size! JMO , ROY.
