are you going to have the flames out on the cowl,,,as if coming out of the back of the hood thru to the dash top? You got one little piece of tape laying there like you were about to start to tape off flames on the cowl.JCBond wrote: ↑Sun Feb 25, 2024 10:26 pmNo I took it down to bare metal and then clear coated the bare metal. I was going for just a clean metal look for that speaker grill.Boss/Cyclone wrote: ↑Sun Feb 25, 2024 9:59 pmLooks good, is the defrost vent/speaker grille going to be solid white?

Painted the white today. Now I gotta work on trying to lay out the flames on the side. The bottom picture is my plan.

I'm trying to lay out the flames for the doors. I decided not to lay flames past the door into the rear quarter so I don't have to deal with panel alignment later on. I pulled the doors off so I could really focus. I just keep laying down tape and pulling it off. Been through about $60.00 worth of tape by now. But I think I'm close. At some point I just gotta finish it and move on. Drive a person crazy.
Re: 1963 Comet Custom Build Thread
I redid the flames on the doors and some clear coat. A guy in Moab named Pete Hughes helped me lay them out. Now I'm taking them to a person for pin stripes. I'm almost ready to paint the whole car.
Re: 1963 Comet Custom Build Thread
They look great! The pinstripes will really accent the overlay on the flames.

We stayed in Moab when we visited Arches national Park. Beautiful country. Your car is looking great, too!
