Not too many people where I live that will deal with installing a windshield and back glass.
the one place that I have, they have done classic cars and are asking me to make sure I have the 'clips'. Now I know its been a few years
since I removed the windshield, but I don't remember seeing any 'clips'.
there was the outer stainless, the glass, the rubber seal, and the inner trim. If there are 'clips' can someone enlighten me please.
thanks. Johnm

Looking at this online shop manual it appears to me the sedans dont have clips but may have screws at the sides & all moldings come off with the windshield & also installed to the seal before windshield installation. page 12- 042 at the bottom & next page

Hardtop cars have 5 clips across the top so maybe that is what they are thinking about. But I think I would show them this manual so they know to install the molding on the windshield prior to installation.
But maybe someone else like ''powerband'' knows for sure. he's very knowledgeable about these earlier models.

yes, got all the stainless, and there are some screws that go into stainless to window frame. But saw nothing in my 61 comet manual that mentions
clips when removing or installing windshield. The glass guy mentioned about how mustangs had clips, but different beast, other than its a ford.
I will bring my shop manual to the glass guy. My book did mention about installing stainless first into gasket (seal) before installing. thanks.
