Replacing the package tray which I don't think was the original one.
So question is what is stock treatment for the package tray? Note that I'll be putting 2 6x9 speakers in it and I know that's not stock, but trying to be as true as I can be.
- Was it originally painted to match the interior?
- Was it covered in vinyl? And if vinyl, did it match the seats, the headliner, or always white or another color?
Push comes to shove and I'll put shag carpet on it with a nodding head dog.
Thanks in advance.

TIM,in my 64,it is a fiber brd and it the same color as the interior(red),and adding 2 speakers will not be a problem,POP ( make the dog face backwards and wire his eyes to light up with the brks and carry the shag carpet in the trunk just in case you need to lay on it when you have to get under it ) POP

Re: 63 S22 Hardtop Package Tray
When I had the mustang we mounted two 6 x 9 speakers on the rear deck. Then covered them with the rear deck cover available from most mustang venders. The covers kept the hot sun from beating on the speakers so they lasted longer and the covering was porous to sound.
