My hood springs are "a bit tired" and my hood likes to move with the wind. I've remedied that issue with oversized hood bumpers. But that means that my hood sits 1/2 inch above the fenders.
I've been looking everywhere but can't seem to find just the hood hinge springs for a 63. I don't need or want to buy the whole hood hinge, and it appears that the only hood hinge springs for sale are for 64's and newer. I've been told that the 63 Falcons and Comets had the same hood hinge, but that still doesn't help since I can't find any hood hinge springs for Falcons either.
Anybody have a suggestion?
Thanks in advance.

Re: 63 Hardtop S22, Hood Hinge Springs
I had this issue on my '63. They hood would float up when going fast. It was not the springs. The hinge pivot areas become dry and need to be really cleaned and oiled (greased) well. Remove your hood, remove the hinges, Clean in a good solvent and lube really well. The hood will come back down to normal. The springs are not really a function of "faring" the hood to the fender.
Try it, you'll be surprised.

hey bruce, your comet looks awesome. what size tires and rims do you have?
Re: 63 Hardtop S22, Hood Hinge Springs
Rims are 15X7, Tires are 20560R15 which are with a 1/4" in circumference as the original OEM rims. No clearance issues.
