Re: 8" rear question 63 S-22
I can tell you that on my 62 Comet I used the whole mustang front end with the exception of the strut rod's. The Comet strut rod's were twice as thick and adjustable. The rear bolted right in too. The saddles were different width's but it bolted in and is still in there from 1983.

Should bolt up using the 6-cyl Comet steering box and Mustang spindles. The Mustang box is 2 7/8" longer than the Comet part (41 7/8" vs. 39"). If the "Stang box is preferred the shaft can be shortened.
I don't know if the earlier Comets used the spring isolator setup on the leafs…if so, just use the Mustang shock plates (the perches on the isolator rears were wider and had a much large center pin hole).

You'll also need a 65 comet or falcon centerlink. the mustang center link is too long.

I did use the Comet steering box and I think I used the Mustang pitman arm.
