1963 Comet Convertible

Post by rcoop1950 »

I am new to the world of Mercury Comets. I recently purchased a 63 convertible. Lookin to answer a questions about hood and looking for parts.
1. My hood has the word Mercury spelled out in separate block letters-is this correct for 63?
2, Missing the letter C- are they available anywhere?
3. Door sills looking tired can they be purchased anywhere?

Thanks
Coop

They are not reproduced, check eBay or maybe someone on here will have one they are willing to part with.

Should be the same as Falcon convertibles places like Macs probably have them.

I think the hood lettering is probably correct but would have to look it up, some one will answer you that shortly I am sure.

Nice looking Comet BTW.

See Ya,

If they're not rotten or beat up you can scrub them with 0000 (4) ought steel wool & make them look new again.

Your lettering is the '62 hood style. In '63 they went to a single script on the driver's side like the above picture. EBay has what you need sometimes.

Here's a few full sets marked as '63 but it is a '62...

I have some door sill plates for a convertible if interested... See here.
