Can someone snap a pic of their trunk weather stripping so I can make heads or tails out of this?
My car's trunk restoration wasn't finished. Need plaid floormat and weather stripping to finish it up.
Video on YouTube shows wide strip around the bottom of lid but all I can find online is thin stripping (for the body?).
Scratching my head. Thanks!
JT

Re: '63 hardtop trunk weather stripping
I see lid weather stripping on the sedans and body lip weather stripping on the hardtops?
My lid doesn't appear to accept weather stripping but the body lip is there for the thin stuff.
Thanks!

Hi JT.
I have a 62 Sedan and put the weatherstripping on the trunk lid. Pretty sure that it was the following part from MAC's:
https://www.macsautoparts.com/ford_falc ... nd-71.html
I also used the 3M Black Weatherstripping adhesive. If you decide to put it on the underside of the trunk lid, apply it to both surfaces and then take a piece of wood or cardboard and to spread it smooth, give it a couple minutes to flash, and then stick together. I used some tape to help hold in place as well. The key is spreading it out so that it flashs off the solvent and then the two surfaces will just about instantly stick together.

Thanks for the pic and link. I just noticed the fine print.
I had looked at this link before and didn't notice the body style application.
The sedan is indeed different than the hardtop application.
My body style is 63B (code 17) and this weatherstripping isn't a match.
Thank you!
