You need to look at the patent plate attached to the driver's door. Under the column headed Axel it should have a 4 if it's a 3.25. If not, use the table to figure out what it is.

These bolts were in a ziplock bag I labeled front suspension and steering. I'm usually really good about labeling things exactly where they came from but these got tossed in a bigger bunch. Does anyone recognize where they go? Somewhere in the front end.

Hard to tell from the angle of the picture, but looks like the bolts that hold the cap on the shock tower that captures the top of the shock? Maybe?
Like on the bottom left of your picture from earlier in this thread.

Yes thanks! Exactly what they are. They slide into that groove above where the spring plate goes. Thanks! 6 of them.

Looks like some are bent up a bit. I replaced mine w/ carriage bolts from Ace Hardware. The shoulder fits tighter and won't spin.
They'll slip between the top of the spring & the tower with a tiny pry on the spring w/ a screwdriver.

Every set I have had apart looked like that. I think the bend makes them a snug fit till you have a chance to tighten them down.

Dang I'll never get this thing back together. See these tie rods. I assumed they were all the same. My old ones looked all the same. There are three different ones here. The two on the right are the same and the ones on the left have different rubber bushings and a slightly different bend. Any idea which is inner and outer and on which side?

I've had them spin on me a few times trying to get the nuts off. Break out the chisel time.

Did you order the two mismatched ones from the same source at the same time with the same part number? Regardless of the appearance, if you place them side by side do the lengths and angles of the joint match?

By the way, at least one of those jack stands you're using has an awfully narrow base. Hope you've got your wheels slid under the rockers for safety.

It came in a kit for a '63 Comet. The car is also supported from above with cherry pickers. Believe me I don't take any chances with that thing falling on me.

I just looked them up. They are the same Inner and Outer Tie Rod ends Maxine and Me bought for his 64. The one with the cone, the right side ones in my picture, are labeled Outer Tie rod. And the other with the different boot is labeled inner tie rod. This is pretty much what I figured out just by playing around and finding the right fit. It appears the center link has different size holes.

So I guess I don't under stand why I have two inner tie rods. One has a slightly different angle than the other and a different boot.

Here's what I have. 2 -TRE-328R Outer Tie Rods.

I wonder if the difference in the TRE329R and TRE329L mean left and right.

Looks like you may be running into the crazy transition thing.

C&G lists tie-rod for '63-'64 that changed mid-year '64 for V8. It's possible you may have the later '64 part.
