I finished the metal work on the rear wheel wells and the tail light area. Now a skim of body filler and a lot of sanding and I'll see how it turns out.

Have not posted in a while. I finally got the rear quarters sorted out on this thing and it's getting pretty close to paint.

Rebuilt the paint booth in my garage. Built it with house wrap. It works pretty good. I painted my F250 in there last year. Hopefully I can get this Comet painted before spring. Then I can start putting it back together.

This is my idea for painting the car.

Today I started painting the inside of the doors and laying out the flames. I went with a color called Dodge Copperhead.

That is impressive, and looks great! 8) Did you photoshop the pic of the finished car, or is that an existing car you're using as the inspiration for yours? If you photoshopped it, then I'm REALLY impressed.

Thanks! I photoshopped it. Found some flames on then internet and cut and pasted them in until they looked kinda right. I did the same thing with the inside of the doors.

I painted the inside of the doors yesterday. The flames weren't perfect. I got them a little thin but flames are really tough.

I've been working on trying to get the flames laid out on the dash board. After I get the dash done I think I can assemble all the panels and start to paint the whole thing. It's tough to get time because there is so much to do as Spring comes here on the ranch. We're having baby calves born every day. But I get a little time to work on it here and there.

The first pic is my mock up on photoshop and the second pic is trying to lay it out.

Painted the dash this evening. Not perfect but I don't think I can do better. It's tough to get that right.

Looks good, is the defrost vent/speaker grille going to be solid white?

No I took it down to bare metal and then clear coated the bare metal. I was going for just a clean metal look for that speaker grill.
