COMET CENTRAL

Hey friends,
I’ve been getting back into my ‘62 4 door comet project and and one of the first things I want to address are the brakes. I’m looking to re-plumb the whole system, as well as upgrade to a dual master. A disk conversion isn’t in my budget, and coming across a 4 wheel drum brake dual master has proved difficult. I found and dual chamber upgrade for a 64/65 mustang from Leed brakes. Anyone had any experience with them or with any others? Am I missing something obvious? Just want to know what y’all have gone with in the past.

I used a 4wheel drum brake master from an early Maverick in my 64.
Ordered it from a local parts store. Was a bolt in worked great. It's still kicking around here some place but getting to you would probably be a pain with the border situstion at the moment.

Here are a some Maverick units that will work. Im using the early Maverick Raybestos disc/drum MC in my 65.

In my foggy beer sedated brain there was a reason I used a Maverick MC as opposed to an early Mustang part. Was it the bore diameter of the Maverick unit? (15/16” vice 7/8”)? Or that the Maverick one has a built in residual pressure valve in the rear circuit and the Mustangs was external in the combo valve? Man I have to find my old notes

Here's what I used. Direct bolt in, no clearance issues. It says Drum / Disc but it works fine. Had to redo lines and brake light switch. 9782 PB2

Good call. ABS makes quality parts. I run ABS proportioning valve on my disc/drum system. Broke the adjustment knob during a clutch adjustment, wrote them and they sent me a new one free of charge. Courteous and prompt service. Good company for parts.

Nope. '67-'72 Mustang is drum/drum dual reservoir. Owned a few myself. Same part # as early Maverick.
