Finding Parts

Post by 1948F1 »

OK, Where do you people find parts for your Comets? I've been waiting 3 months for a Mac's/Ecklers Catalog, but their online catalog doesn't have the parts I need. Any recommendations that you have used would be great. Thanks. Ed

I prefer to buy good used original off EBay if you can find them or restore what parts you have.
Best aftermarket source I've found for 1st gen. is https://www.falconparts.com/

from what I've heard it's probably a good thing you didnt get a catalog from them. ecklers bought up macs & dearborn parts & when down hill from day one. I heard people weren't getting their orders or their money back so beware. as mentioned by Joe falconparts, melvins, autokrafters are all smaller vendors who have stuff. you'll do best by pricing everything,& check see if on backorder before ordering. It's a good idea to ask this group before getting the big items, & choose what suits you best from feedback.

Agree with Melvins Autokrafters and FalconParts. I also use National Parts Depot and EBay seller Colliers Classics https://www.ebay.com/str/colliersclassicsfordandmercury
And C&G https://cgfordparts.com/

C&G's inventory for Comet sure has shrunk since the lockdown 2 years ago. They also got rid of the interactive functions on their website.
Seems like they are cutting cost to keep the business running. Let's hope the economy picks up so they can restock a few things :(

I was just on Classic industries web site they have quite a few items for the 64-65 Comet /Falcons. Whole and partial Floor pans, cowl parts.A good selection of weatherstripping. AC and heating. Dash pads, lots more. I always thought they were mostly GM . Anybody been using them?
