Just crawled under and got some pics. I am wondering if the eccentric was just put in as a fastener, not actually for adjustment!? I guess I’ll know for sure when I pull it apart. In meantime should I just order the ‘63 control arms? The Maverick spindle will attach no problem, yes?

Thanks for the help folks. Sassy I’ll pvt you for that contact info..

To me looks like it eccentric washer is used as a plain washer.
Don't know about the Maverick spindle but the other fellow posting here might.
I'd rather do it myself if it's done right or not,,,isn't that what hotrodding is all about

Welcome on! :D I agree with all who said it looks like a comet LCA & strutrod>>at least what I can see of it. Fred right ,that just like mine ,is called a vario-centric camber kit. it doesnt have the round eccentric washer things like in powerband's pic. kind of same principle but square OD. & there are 2 styles of the square kind .mine has only one set of plates that get turned to adjust the pivot bolt. & the other is similar but has several plates & you change them out . opentracker has those.

Image

you weld the holder on the car & cut the car to match the slot , as you flip the washer it changes the hole positions,, with a chart to decode the lettered positions, sounds complicated at first but it isn't. ;

Image

I dont know of anyone who has used the maverick parts on these early comets . was it driving ok ? ever? My first thought is like Fred said & go all 65 parts,,,A known very good driving set up.

Thanks Johno, I may have to look into that kit!

Yeah, the current setup with the Maverick parts has worked great, and it’s been on the road like this for 25+ years. I mean as great as a 60 year old car with 50-60 year old suspension/steering can lol.

These are a couple pics I took of Matt's car in 2012 at a show in my hm town. Clean Cruiser!!
Didn't know Matt but these cars are super rare in Canada is why it stood out in my memory. This is the only 63.5 Comet I've seen in Canada and one 63.5 Falcon that is actually a 5 min drive from me where I live now.

Thanks all! It’s a fun little car!
Joe, had long tube headers for a while, let’s just say you had to go reeaaalllllyyyy slow over speed bumps lol. When I rebuilt the engine I put shorties on for a bit more room (plus the long tubes seemed to overheat my starter). Anyways, still tight over speed bumps but better.

That is one big reason my Cyclone is not lower in the front, as it is I have about 3 1/2” of clearance between the ground and my header flanges. I am also running a fairly tall tire in the front which is a factor, that is why I modified the area behind the tire for more clearance.
Everyone has their preference on how a car sits, I like ‘em low.
