So my 61 did not have any carpet. Just a vinyl flooring with jute underlayment.
Any recommendations for underlayment for the 61? I plan to just put down black vinyl flooring again. Not a fan of car carpet.
Also, the floor (pan) has been blasted, primed and painted with a tough marine paint.
There were manufacturer holes punched through the pan, looked like the holes the old fashioned can openers made, triangle shaped. odd.
At this time I plugged them with dum dum caulk. The other round holes have the rubber plugs in them.
I have heard people complain about the peel and stick underlayment. But don't know much about it.
thanks for any advice.....

' good to hear the swept wing '61 is on the finish side of the project, how about teaser pics'
.
probably had the ribbed rubber/vinyl carpet which may be available ? . I'm a fan of simple 'Boat Carpet' in black - easily cut and shaped to look like black pre-cut/molded.
.
.
.
in the '63 , large square (18/18"?) 'pressure sensitive' (sticky backed) commercial carpet squares, worked great with thick foam backing needs nothing behind it but colors limited.

Still need some more advice on this.
Originally on top of the pan the manufacturer sprayed or brushed some sort of black tar? maybe about 1/16 inch thick., the painted. On top of that was
the fibrous jute fabric, then on top of that was the vinyl flooring. There was no carpet in this car, just a vinyl flooring, which I will replace with same.
I am a bit at a loss as to what I need to put down. Do I need some sort of buytl or tar type barrier before I put down a jute replacement?
And whats a good jute replacement? alot of people don't like the old jute stuff, yet they sell tons of it online.
