Carburetor question.

Post by Sawyer0162 »

The carb and exhaust manifold on my 1960 was changed out. A Holley 1 barrel with automatic choke was put on with an exhaust manifold with no fitting for the auto choke tube, so the tube just hangs there. The previous owner manually backed off the auto choke so it stys open all the time. Car runs ok but I was wondering if anyone knows what was original on this car. I thought they all had the famous Holley glass bowl with manual choke but now I'm not so sure. I read and hear different things. No one knows for sure... Anyone?
Thanks.... Tom

I've been doing a lot of research since getting my '62, and in 62 at least, that was a difference between Falcons and Comets--the Ford having manual choke, the Merc automatic. 60's may be the same. Maybe the 'new' manifold came off a Falcon or something else. Chris
