Loaded it up today to get media blasted. Was told I could pick it up Friday. Looking forward to seeing it painted and then I can start putting it back together.

You going with the same color? I allways have a hard time letting the paint cure. I have to take a road trip to stay away from it.

I'm looking for a very bright RED, absolutely no orange in it. So far I've come up with Ford's Race Red, Mopar's Viper Red and Nissan's Solid Red. I was first thinking of Ford's Ruby Red. It looks awesome when the sun is shinning but I don't like it when it's cloudy out. So I got to pick one here soon.

That sure looks red Fred. I looked up the 2000 mustang colors. Do you know if your color is the Lasser Red or the Performance Red. Love your car

???
Well I was sure it was a Mustang colour,, maybe Canadian colours have different names.
Anyway I found the can and it is called Vermillion, code E4.
This colour isn't an exact match, if you look close on the drivers door above the side trim it is a bit lighter than the rest of the car but very close.

If you don't want Orange in it, do not go for 2000 Ford Performance Red. Thats what mine is (or was back when I painted it in 2001). When its was fresh in certain light it looked orange, but most of the time red. Lots of people told me they thought it was orange. Its a cheap single stage and now that its faded the orange is pretty much gone. I kind of liked the way it looked and how the colour changed, played tricks on the eyes!

Looks like the 64 guys are rooting for you tomb.
Not a fan of red myself but the ladies like it,so I can see why a guy would paint his car red.
I find the best way to pick out a color, is to buy a pint of what I think I want, and spray it. Being sure to prep the test with the same materials as used on the car. I might add that you can spray a car on one day and use the paint left in your spray gun on the next day and it not be the same shade. The weather has something to do with it I'm sure.
Good luck I'm sure it's going to be nice.

Got the car and parts back from the media blaster. He sprayed crushed glass on it to remove 2 layers of paint and primer and rust. The media looked and felt just like flour. I had a hard time thinking that would take anything off. Here is a picture before epoxy primer.

Now the bondo work begins

I still haven't picked out the right red. They told me I could have a 1/2 pint of paint mixed up and spray something to help me decide. I'm thinking about doing that.

Looks good Tomb.

A suggestion for the bondo

Little pricey but definitely worth it.
