FUEL LINKAGE
FUEL LINKAGE
Has anyone used either LOKAR or other less expensive brands accelerator pedals in their COMETS or FALCONS? I have a very nice lokar cable set up from my carb to the pedal. The pedal I scrounged from a 72 TORINO and it works fairy well, however I can't get enough throttle travel to engage the secondaries. I have a 65 CYCLONE with a 289 4spd Any thoughts?? THANKS. TOM

Re: FUEL LINKAGE
I recently used a lokar cable setup in a old truck. Had the same problem secondaries wouldn't open, pedal didn't have enough travel, was hitting floor before opening the secondaries. I shortened the cable. Raised the pedal a little but did the trick. I remember thinking I would need to buy new shorter cable but then seen one end of the cable came apart and you could cut the cable and cable housing to fit application.

We used a LOKAR "knock off" from Speedway in Ole Rusty. With proper pedal indexing and cable adjustment it works great and a lot cheaper.
