I did not comment on the trans mount, did you end up making your own? On my T5 mount, I made the new part that connects to the original frame mounts and then modified the T5 mount by narrowing it. I may still redo it because it hangs so low but it also protects the bottom of the trans some because it is the first thing to hit the ground and is heavy enough to hold the car up

Yes I did end up making my own, I did something similar to what you did. I used the stock mounting point and just made it out of tubing and plate, the tough part was getting enough angle in it to reach forward to where the mount on the trans was. The trans mount was about 6 inches closer to the front than the original mount.

an export brace would make it easier to access the master cylinder & the back 4 plugs,everything in the back of the engine bay.

Dual master cylinder, proportioning valve, clutch linkage, plugs, wires and headers galore

yea even if you have a booster it helps;
here is a pic of a safari car,may be a clone but it has both braces & you can get a better idea of where the export brace will be;

Thank you! I was originally planning on buying one and using one but after I spent all the time sanding and painting the engine bay and realizing I never got one I just decided to leave the original one in for the time being, I do eventually want to get an aftermarket one, I really like the trick heim joint ones that use bars.

Got the sound deadening from summit laid down, one box did the entire floor!! Now to order the carpet and the race harnesses. Has anyone bought carpet from stockinteriors.com?? That’s where I’m looking at buying mine, also should I buy the molded carpet or the cut and sewn one.

I bought the molded carpet for mine from them and have no regrets. Mine came in 2 pieces. The seam is under the front seats. I thought it fit real well. You still have to cut the edges on the sides to fit.

Did you get the nylon or the 80/20 loop? I think im leaning towards the molded carpet as well I think it will look better in the long run.

POP's old comet was redone back in the mid 90's,,,been so long ago I just can't recall where my carpet came from,,,but it was molded and sides were already sewn,,,and hemed,,I just laid it out in the bright sun for a few hrs and installed it,,,still in good shape,,,but for the life of me ,I just can't recall where I bought it from...If I find out I'll for sure post it,,,good luck,pop

Yeah I think I’m gonna get samples because I’m not sure which one will be best, what is the “original” style the carpet in our cars? I’m guessing it was the 80/20 loop. And thank you pop!

The factory type of carpet was loop. Depending on the configuration of your floor they may or may not have a preformed kit. (Floor shift, and its location, body style)
Because of the modifications to my floor I purchased a roll of loop from Stock Interiors, they were good to work with but shipping is costly and they limit the amount of carpet you can purchase. After having it in the car for a while I can tell you that you should plan on using a floor mat to protect the carpet from wear especially where your heal will rest. I had custom mats with a leather heal pad made for mine that are “disposable” although I would need to purchase more carpet and it would cost to have them made again.
You should question if the kit comes with the material to cover the vertical rocker sill that is inside the car under the door, from the factory it was vinyl, I did mine in carpet.
