Antenna

Post by BobatheFett84 »

Does anyone know where to find a good antenna for a 1965 comet? is it the square base or round? and most importantly the bottom mounting bracket. i looked thru macs and others and cannot find the bottom bracket. mustang parts places have them, are they the same? any help is appreciated. I would of deleted it before i painted if i knew it would be this big of a hassle but now its too late and my paint looks too good.

I checked 9 ads and a brochure for 65 Comets at the ahpsoc.org website, and none of them had an antenna. As I understand it, like outside mirrors, radios (and antennas) were commonly dealer installed options, and they weren't always the same. e.g. I've read the dealers installed both round and square mirrors. Let's see who chimes in and to see what they have on their cars.

I have a round antenna base. I’ve only seen round ones on 64-65 Comets and Falcons.

I have a round base on my 65 but don't have a clue if it is original to the car.
