Nice snag, Doug!
Much better assembly than the newer ones. Tighter clearances, not as sloppy. :D

Joe
I have newer Hursts for both the Comet and the Falcons Toploaders.
The newer ones clearance issues can be easily fixed and there are tighter fitting machined steel bushings available as well.

Paul Cangialosi had this stuff before the lockdown. Don't know if he's still manufacturing.

No problem Pop!
I bought his parts kit and rebuilt my new shifter to tighten the clearances. Feels pretty darned good now :D
Its too bad I had to do that to a $500 shifter but what can you do…

POP has either too much oldy but goody stuff stashed away waiting on me or son to dig out..like this shifter on OL rusty which I had bought new back in late 60 / early 70...or I don't get out much...500 for a shifter....POP doesn't keep up with what much stuff costs,,,,son orders it,,then he and I pay for it when the bill comes in.....or should I say GLENDA pays for it !! I never ask son how much ?? I just say order it ,I'll pay half !! but my son knows where to spend the dollar,,,,back in the day before giving 500 for a shifter ,I would have used vise grips !!!

Yes, I found him through YouTube when I first started researching the T-10B1. There isn't much info out there beyond the early Cobra crowd. He was kind enough to answer a few e-mails on the subject. Need to purchase his book, kick him some moolah. Since Doug owns a H-1, I'm out.

Nice score! Bruce is a good guy to buy from,he knows shifters.

Doug sounds like you have the same plans for a radio as me. & bigger collection!! :) I found a nice am on ebay a few years ago,it even works but not much.but has nice smooth buttons & decent knobs. & Like many would like to find an am/fm factory radio but fat chance I guess. I did find the slider bar from one on ebay;
Image
Talking with a guy near Nashville about redoing my best am with all the new guts & hoping he can put that slider on it ,maybe find another dial face that looks correct for an fm

as for the scoop trim,do you have the afx hood? I made some trim out of aluminum for my proto repo hood . I want to make it thinner/skinnier,it seems too fat to me.but it holds screen on to keep the bugs out. screen is black & hard to see. But someday I want a nicer set

Wow, thanks to all for the great responses and input. My shifter is truly the re-release version. I thought it was strange that the mounting bracket was billet machined aluminum. I don't remember billet being a thing when I put my same Hurst shifter in my 55 Bel Aire coupe back in the day. I appreciate all the input and I started watching the video and I will finish it later and contact the guy for one of his parts kits. I'm not planning on much gear-banging but might as well make the shifter as tight as I can.
I do not have the hood with the air inlets, I am kind of planning on modifying my stock hood. Seeing your cars has given me some ideas.
I will take my radio collection to the rebuilder soon and find out what he can do for me. The last two radios (Comet/Barracuda) I had rebuilt I sent to Florida to Tayman electrical for modernization. I want to try something different this time.
Thank you all for posting. It is a pleasure to visit with so many knowledgeable talented car hobbyists. I'm glad to see the traffic on the site! Hope someone picks it up, I know it can't keep going without a surrogate for Mike.
------Cheers to all and Douglas out------------------
