different 2 door roof lines
different 2 door roof lines
I searched around and it seems like the only the Caliente and Cyclone had a different roof line from the others but both 202 and 404 had? The Caliente and Cyclone have a sleeker thinner C pillar, were these later models or all made throughout the 1965 time frame?

Caliente & Cyclone are hardtops, 202 & 404 sedans. Both body styles carried the same names in '64 & '65.sanderjs wrote: ↑Sun Feb 27, 2022 5:06 pmI searched around and it seems like the only the Caliente and Cyclone had a different roof line from the others but both 202 and 404 had? And 4 door Calientes! I know…I parted out 2 of them

I’m curious about the 4 door sedans. Did they make a lot of them? I don’t think I’ve ever seen one in person.

Re: different 2 door roof lines
So I have one I got a 4 door sedan out of Wenatchee WA, high dry desert type area. The gauge says 43k miles and the Les shwab tire receipt from 1995 had the same mileage. The seem to have replaced the brakes and tires with new parts but didn't drive it because they messed up the brake install but the shoes and parts in the drums were all new just bent up, tires still had little nipples all over them. Seems to be all original could of course be 143K the engine does have allot of lifter noise but I still drive it everywhere and have had no problems.
I rarely see any comets at all at car shows.

I lived in Washington for over 11 years. Car culture is way different there. If I saw a comet over there that would be reeeally rare. Surprised you found one. I go to lots of car shows in the Detroit area and am always surprised when I see one. I got the comet out to about 4 or 5 shows last year and it’s always a big hit. Parked next to a really nice 65 mustang last year and no one batted an eye at it. Everyone was way more interested in my car

Mustangs are like belly buttons. They're everywhere. You can build one from scratch out of repop parts out of catalogs. But a Comet.....now THERE'S a car!

Yep everyone has one and they stink! Lol
I could imagine spending years trying to find parts for my car. Most of it is one year only. I’m lucky it was such a complete rust free car and didn’t spend much life in the Michigan area.
