1965 comet sedan rescued

Post by ezpz »

Hello all! My first post here but I’ve lurked for years. Finally got my own Comet. It’s a 1965 sedan. Rescued her from sitting in a yard with a bunch of other junk. I’m sure I’ll have a ton of questions for you all in the future but for now, just wanted to say hi! Have a good day!

Sure is good to see some other blue on here. That's about the same shade as mine. :)

Welcome aboard! :D Looks like she's sitting high in the front end. Does she have an engine? Tell us some more about her.

Yep, when i saw that pic I said, It's PoBoy's car (without an engine) and except for all the things that are different about it... but the paint did look close.

Probably just the big tires on her. The ones that were on it when I bought it were flat. No engine but there’s a 302/c4 waiting to go in. Will need a new floor pan and rear quarters patched but other than a few small areas, it’s not too bad. It was a factory medium beige with blue interior. I will be doing most of the restore myself with my husbands help. I’ve always wanted to learn how and I finally got my dream car to learn on. I hope I don’t annoy you guys too much with all my questions 😂

It is highly unlikely that we can be annoyed by your questions. How do you think we all got to be the know it alls we are today? :D

Looks like the 65 404 2D post car I built before I started my cyclone build. My sig photo and it was the most solid car I ever built. I hope my cyclone is as good as my 404 was.

Did you sell it in Missouri? That’s where I got it and the owner had it since 2007. After doing a little bit more research, I think the original color was Tiffany blue.

I sold the blue 404 to a friend in Washington state. My car is painted viper blue base/clear and cut and buffed by me and my 10 year old granddaughter. I installed vintage air AC, cruise control, ralley Pac, custom interior, tinted glass and I regret to this day that I sold it. It still looks like the photo, my friend takes good care of it. Best car I ever built. I hope the new Cyclone exceeds it though.
