‘64 Villager Wagon on BAT
‘64 Villager Wagon on BAT
Posted today on Bring a Trailer: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1964- ... 2022-03-27
This would be second in line next to my Cyclone, I have always had a soft spot for station wagons (have owned quite few) and being a ‘64 Comet makes it the ultimate model.
It will be interesting to see what the selling price is.

You could have a private Dyno Don museum, Jim.
I would be tempted to bid on this if I were able.
Wonder if the oscillating noise is tire related? Appears to run and drive well but some noise issues to address.

Re: ‘64 Villager Wagon on BAT
and now I have my definitive answer! :
.. from my previous post - "Twilight Zone Comet" - Sat Jan 01, 2022 :
A New Years Eve T- Zone-athon had an episode with Telly Savalas as a mean stepdad being harassed by a talking doll. In the episode the Mom and young daughter drive up in what looks like a '60 Comet wagon with complete Woody type trim. I've never seen one in the reality zone and like to see some more pics. ...
My '63 Falcon moredoor wagon did some background work for HBO last summer, should be in a few scenes in upcoming release : The Whitehouse Plumbers"
.. . .
and here's G. Gordon Liddy's (Woody Harrelson's) Firebird with camera tow rig:
have fun

Actually one of my previous wagons was a ‘64 Comet 404, six, automatic. It was white with tan guts and was a rust bucket. It was my every day driver for a couple of winters until some clown rear ended it while it was parked. I parted it out, in fact I probably still have a few parts from it in my stash.Joe Travers wrote: ↑Sun Mar 27, 2022 2:04 pmYou could have a private Dyno Don museum, Jim.

Rare for sure, probably why its on BAT.
Certainly a candidate for a complete. But,,,,
I have ZERO interest in wagons. The Comet is probably at the top of the list having a body borrowered body from a Falcon and those hokey taillights.
Will be interesting to see what someone is willing to pay for it though.

Pop bought a few LTD wagons after I took over the Galaxie. First was a '68 w/ 390. It would diesel quite often after the gas formula changed.
Would love to own a nice Comet wagon, in lieu of a van. Love the old Econolines but underpowered.

Since I started this thread I won’t feel bad about hi jacking it to discuss station wagons!Joe Travers wrote: ↑Sun Mar 27, 2022 5:23 pmCool!A/FX wrote: ↑Sun Mar 27, 2022 4:12 pmActually one of my previous wagons was a ‘64 Comet 404, six, automatic. My father also was big on wagons, all Mercury’s except the lone ‘65 Ford. One that I remember well is his special order ‘69 Colony Park, it was loaded with every option available that year including having it finished in Calypso Corral, normally a Montego color.
I also owned a similar wagon although mine was a ‘70 and red.
Those were big cars, and were great on road trips.

Mine jumped from the LTD wagons into a Grand Marquis I eventually bought. Mom had a Cougar.
They later jumped into a few Town Cars. I sold the last one 5 years ago.

Re: ‘64 Villager Wagon on BAT
I love the Comet wagons. This one even has the ever-elusive gas cap. Maverick and I always talked about doing a wagon build but somehow make it with a more modern SUV drive train.
I drove a 1968 Ford Ranch Wagon in college. Highland Green. My dad bought it custom straight from the factory. 3 on the tree (with a 302 - he is a gas miser). It was the first engine I rebuilt.

Re: ‘64 Villager Wagon on BAT
Continuing the hi jacking... I took my drivers test in San Francisco in my Dad's '69 Colony Park station wagon. The thing was huge! Barely fit in the lanes on the one way streets around the DMV. I had only driven it a few times (learned in the '65 el Camino) before taking the test (I passed). Wish I had photos of that car... It was green, with fake wood paneling, 429 with 2 bbl. Lot's of milestone, high school memories in that car .A/FX wrote: ↑Sun Mar 27, 2022 6:08 pm
