Cometchero?

Post by JimsHot66 »

Spotted this while out running errands today...had to circle back to take a pic. Looks like a decent job with the mods. Sitting in parking lot of transmission shop.

When I first read the title to the thread, was thinking it might be our old buddy Ron's car. Not his car but still very cool.

Based on the wheels and color, it looks like the Comet/Ranchero that Ron Sheeder (AKA Comechero) modeled his car after. He mentioned it on page 8 of this thread.

Shared a meal with Ron, big ol boy from ,, maybe Iowa. Had been in Ca. most his life.
Got to comb over his car, it was such a detailed individual build.
I'd rather do it myself if it's done right or not,,,isn't that what hotrodding is all about

Was referring to stock ones, Fred. I've fried a few over the years.
If I were racing an auto, my preference would be race-built C-4 to cut down on weight.

Yep. That's Ron's car. Never knew his first name was Thomas, though. Apparently the family decided to let it go.

That could very well ve the second owner since Ron built it.
Ron was in Santa Clara not far fron San Jose ca. He drove the car down to Gilroy to meet up with me,, maybe 2015.
