65 Comet Dual Exhaust issue

Post by rmertz3282 »

I recently installed 2.5" dual exhaust and it comes dangerously close to the rear brake hose. Can anyone offer a solution to reroute or lengthen the hose to avoid contacting the tail pipe? I know the 65 Mustang dual exhaust had a different set of brake lines and brake hose that moved the junction block forward. I ordered the respective parts but that solution doesn't work for my setup. I seems like if the hose was 2-3 inches longer it could loop around the exhaust.

You can get a longer hose. lots of us use one from any 70's truck ,it's just alike but longer than a comet. you can loop how you need before you tighten the front part of it so it gets away from the pipe.

I had the same problem. Installed a hose for a 73 F150. Hose was around 22" long and allowed plenty of room to loop the hose away from the exhaust.
